Children and teens do not always have the words to explain what they are feeling. Stress, anxiety, sadness, trauma, school pressure, social struggles, identity questions, or family changes may show up as withdrawal, irritability, anger, avoidance, perfectionism, panic, low motivation, or behavior changes.
Therapy gives children and teens a safe place to express what is happening internally while learning healthier ways to cope, communicate, regulate emotions, and build confidence.
Parent therapy and support can help caregivers better understand what their child may be experiencing while also learning tools for communication, boundaries, emotional regulation, and connection.
This is not about blaming parents. It is about helping the whole family system feel more supported, informed, and capable of responding to challenges with more clarity and compassion.
At Holistic Mental Health Counseling, therapy is tailored to the child, teen, parent, and family dynamic. We work with children 9 and up. Depending on the needs, sessions may focus on emotional expression, coping skills, nervous system regulation, communication, trauma support, anxiety management, or relationship repair.
Our therapists may use talk therapy, CBT, mindfulness, somatic approaches, grounding tools, IFS-informed work, and parent guidance to support healing in a way that feels age-appropriate and emotionally safe.
You do not have to have your anxiety figured out before reaching out. Our Client Care Team will listen to what you are experiencing and help connect you with a therapist who feels like the right fit—whether that is with us or elsewhere.
Your free consultation is simply a conversation, with no pressure or obligation. Our goal is to help you find the support you need to move toward greater peace, clarity, and confidence.
